Author Interview: Tanya Wilde

Let's welcome Tanya Wilde, author of Regency Romances (one sexy scene steam level)!

Award-winning and International Bestselling author Tanya Wilde developed a passion for reading when she had nothing better to do than lurk in the library during her lunch breaks. Her love affair with pen and paper soon followed after she devoured all of their historical romance books! In 2020, she won the Romance Writers Organization of South Africa (ROSA) Imbali Award for Excellence in Romance Writing for Not Quite a Rogue.

When she’s not meddling in the lives of her characters or pondering names for her imaginary big, white greyhound, she’s off on adventures with her partner in crime.

Wilde lives in a town at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, South Africa.

Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want/expect from your genre/sub-genre?

Honestly, I write for me! Or should I rather say, my characters write for themselves! Of course, they try to be as original as they can ;)

What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

Research? What is that? Just kidding! I research as I go. Like . . . my hero jumps into the Thames and swims after a ship . . . Wait . . . Can he do that? Is it possible? How will he get ON the ship? Should he remove his boots first? Would he survive the filthy water? Hehe.

How long on average does it take you to write a book?

About two to three months. But it really depends on the length!

Has writing and publishing a book changed the way you see yourself?

Well, I certainly think I'm a bit crazier than I originally thought, lol. The things we authors go through writing and publishing a book! But it's a good crazy! A laugh at yourself crazy? :)

Where did you get the idea for your first book and/or series?

Gosh, I can't remember. Ideas come and go in a flash! It might have been watching TV, going for a walk, the shower . . . Dreams!

Anything else you'd like readers to know?

Never shy away from reaching for your inner heroine and going on adventures!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed learning about Tanya Wilde!
